Summary

Vite: server.fs.deny bypassed with queries

The contents of files that are specified by server.fs.deny can be returned to the browser. This is the same as https://github.com/vitejs/vite/security/advisories/GHSA-v2wj-q39q-566r.

Details

On the Vite dev server, files that should be blocked by server.fs.deny (e.g., .env, *.crt) can be retrieved with HTTP 200 responses when query parameters such as ?raw, ?import&raw, or ?import&url&inline are appended.

For the fix for https://github.com/vitejs/vite/security/advisories/GHSA-rq7h-c2jc-7f22, v6.4.4 back-ported https://github.com/vitejs/vite/pull/20410. But while that PR requires https://github.com/vitejs/vite/pull/22160 for https://github.com/vitejs/vite/security/advisories/GHSA-v2wj-q39q-566r, https://github.com/vitejs/vite/pull/22160 wasn't back-ported together causing v6 vulnerable to https://github.com/vitejs/vite/security/advisories/GHSA-v2wj-q39q-566r.

Kodem intelligence

Severity tells you how bad this could be in the worst case. It does not tell you whether you are exposed. Exploitability and impact are functions of runtime truth: whether the vulnerable code is present, reachable, and actually executes in your application. A vulnerable package can sit in your dependency tree and never run.

Kodem, an Intelligent Application Security platform, uses runtime intelligence to reveal which vulnerabilities actually execute in production, so teams prioritize the ones that genuinely matter. Kodem's runtime-powered SCA identifies whether this CVE is reachable in your applications.

  5. What actually determines whether CVE-2026-118662 is exploitable, and how bad it is? Exploitability and impact are not fixed properties of a CVE. They depend on runtime truth: whether the vulnerable code is present, reachable, and actually executes in your application. A high CVSS score on a dependency that never runs is not the same as real risk. Kodem, an Intelligent Application Security platform, uses runtime intelligence to reveal which vulnerabilities actually execute in production, so teams prioritize the ones that genuinely matter.
